Stopping Safely wIth Alcon
11 October 2009

Team Medical Australia is pleased to announce that Paul Weel Racing (PWR) and Dunlop have joined their quest to enhance motor sport safety.

PWR have supplied and fitted the three Holden V8 First Intervention Vehicles (FIVs) used at the 2009 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 with Alcon performance brake packages. Similarly, Dunlop have fitted new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres onto the FIVs. Fitted to the two recently delivered Holden VE SS Commodores sponsored by Holden Motorsport - as well as our VZ HSV Clubsport - the performance tyres and brakes allow the FIVs to fulfil their role in providing rapid responses to incidents.

“It is especially reassuring to have the Dunlop tyres and Alcon performance brake packages for our FIVs here at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000”, said Dr Ryan McMullan, Chief Medical Officer of the event.

The Mount Panorama circuit is famous for it’s long straights and high top speeds making brake and tyre performance of critical importance. “Following my crash here last year, I know first hand how important it is for the medical team to have the best resources… to be able to do their job. I am really pleased that PWR are able to assist Team Medical Australia in providing the highest level of medical services to our sport.”, said Paul Weel, retired V8 Supercar driver and founder of PWR.
